National youth team striker and Brent Sam scored the lone goal as San Juan Jabloteh eked out a 1-0 top-of-the-table win over Central FC to claim the Under-18/Reserve Division crown in the 2016 Flow Youth Pro League at San Juan North Secondary Ground, Bourg Mulatresse on Saturday.

Going into the contest, Jabloteh held a seven point lead over Central FC with four matches left for each club, and the latter needed a win to stay alive in the title race.

However, the lanky Sam, the brother of former England-based national striker Hector Sam got the decisive item for Jabloteh in the 62nd minute to grab all three points and push its tally to an unassailable 38 from 15 matches, ten more than Central FC with only three matches left for each team.

In other Under-18/Reserve Division results, Defence Force stayed third with 24 points after a 2-0 defeat of W Connection with a goal each from Aaron Noel in the tenth minute and Ahkil Noel in the 69th while St Ann's Rangers and Pt Fortin Civic battled to a 2-2 draw, Morvant Caledonia United and Police FC also drew 1-1 and Club Sando won by default from host North East Stars due to an unprepared playing surface.

In the Under-16 age-group, Jabloteh also remained on course to lift the title via an 8-1 humiliation of Central FC inspired by hat tricks from Tyrese Bailey (11th, 21st, 65th) and Kesan St Rose (24th, 28th, 37th) ahead of its meeting with second placed Morvant Caledonia on Sunday.

Jodel Brown added a first-half brace in the 31st and 34th minutes for Jabloteh while Tyrique Muhammed converted a 67th consolation penalty for Central FC.

With three matches left, Jabloteh now has 41 points, just three ahead of Morvant Caledonia United, 5-2 victors over Police FC at Morvant Recreation Ground, Park Street, Morvant.

Leading the way for Morvant Caledonia was Akeem Mason with a hat trick, in the 30th, 54th and 76th after Trevis Byron had banged in a double, in the 19th and 24th.

Police FC which trailed 3-1 at the half-time interval got it replies through Marcus Pivitt in the 35th and an own goal from Jalani Augustus in the 70th.

And in the Under-14 Division, Jabloteh rebounded from its 1-0 loss to Club Sando, its second of the campaign with a comfortable 3-0 blanking of Central FC.

Dorian Sampson did the early damage for Jabloteh with goals in the fourth and 29th minutes while David Daniel added an insurance item in the 65th to lift their club to 39 points, eight ahead of Morvant Caledonia United and within sight of its divisional crown.

Morvant Caledonia also won 3-0 over Police FC thanks to a pair of goals from Nickell Alexander, in the 20th and 51st and Stefan Auguste in the 60th on Saturday, but then was held to a 1-1 draw by W Connection in its match on hand on Monday at the same Park Street venue, and must now beat the table leaders on Sunday to stay in the title race.
