ARIMA BOYS’ RC is the national primary schools football champion for the sixth time in nine years.

When the Arima boys contested the final in the National Primary Schools Under-13 Football League yesterday, they shut out Holy Trinity Anglican of Moruga 2-0 at the Arima Municipal Stadium.

Kerry Jamerson Jr, the son of former national and “Strike Squad” midfielder Kerry Jamerson, played a leading role in the win, as he was a thorn in the Holy Trinity defence.

After missing a couple of chances, young Jamerson opened the scoring for Arima RC in the first-half.

In the second session, Sergio Braveboy increased the lead to give the Arima team the victory by two clear goals.

Arima RC also won the competition in 1995, ‘97, ‘99, 2000 and 2003.
