Alison Ayres, a patriotic son of the soil, whose name has become synonymous with Trinidad and Tobago's World Cup qualifying efforts through his musical compositions, is back home from his US base to rally support for the "Soca Warriors", as they seek to quaIify for T&T'S first ever World Cup Finals, "Germany 2006".

Predictably his medium is music. His new offering is titled "Deutschland", with lead vocals by top local entertainer Ronnie Mcintosh. Ayres says he's hoping that Soca music will once again serve to inspire and motivate the team, while at the same time, also serve to evoke sustained national support.

Ayres firmly believes that to increase T&T's chances for success during the campaign, national support is absolutely necessary from the crucial opening game against the USA on Ash Wednesday ( February 9).

Ayres, a soccer-sport marketing professional, says, "There is no greater honour than service to one's country. As a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago and a proud product of sport and soccer in particular, I have chosen to serve through this discipline. I am therefore, totally committed to the cause. I view my continued contribution, not only as an obligation, but as my duty."

This time around, Ayres' musical composition will just be one component of an extended promotional campaign, code name "Hype6", an initiative by his company, SoccerMarketing. Other components of the project will include novelty t-shirts and other promotional items.

Local fans will remember Ayres as the composer of the emotionally charged rally song, "Road To Italy", which was sung by Austin "SuperBlue" Lyons, during the 1989 Road To Italy World Cup qualifying campaign.

The "Deutschland!" recording was co-sponsored by Smokey and Bunty Sports Bar of St James.

Following are the lyrics to the song:
