#26 Joevin Jones man marking Hayden TintoW Connection duo of Hughtun Hector and Joevin Jones are currently two of the national team players attracting interest from clubs in England and the American Major League Soccer.

And W Connection president David John-Williams believes that the faith put into the duo by national team coach Russell Latapy and W Connection coach Stuart Charles-Fevrier has been a major factor in the progress of both players.

MLS side Kansas City Wizards are carded to visit Trinidad later this year and are eying both players as well as recalled national team midfielder Silvio Spann and Matthew Bartholomew.

“There continues to be interest in our players and since their exploits with the national team there has been increased interest in both Joevin and Hughtun both from England and the United States,” John-Williams said on Wednesday.

Williams explained that his club was in full support of nurturing local players and preparing them for the professional stage abroad.

“We have suffered this season because several of our players have been away to national duty either for matches or training and then there are occasions where they may come back with a knock and have to be sidelined.

Then when they are fit again, it’s time to go back to the national team. But we haven’t complained because we are in full support of the national cause and we are note the importance of them acquiring international caps.

We hope to also benefit from at least one of some six players being eyed by foreign clubs, actually gaining contracts to play in an overseas league.”

Hector recently impressed in Ukraine and has been invited for a training camp in January while Shahdon Winchester is also likely to return to Celtic early next year.
