Chaguanas North and Scarborough Secondary continued their push towards qualification to the BG T&T/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League Championship Division ‘Big-Five” by maintain their 100 per cent winning records in their respective zones on Friday.
Over in the sister-isle, Lashawn Roberts also netted a double and Kellon James, the other for Scarborough Secondary in a 3-1 whipping of Signal Hill, which had Calvin Chapman on target.
The win was the sixth from as many matches for Scarborough to lead the seven-team table at the half-way stage with maximum 18 points, eight more than Signal Hill which has a match in hand.
In the North Zone, Tranquillity and Blanchisseuse failed to make up any ground on leaders East Mucurapo after battle to a 2-2 draw while the match between Malick and Diego Martin Central was called off due to a power outage.
Five Rivers (14 points) boosted its title claims in the East Zone with a 4-1 spanking of Arima North and is four points ahead of Toco which won 3-0 away to Barataria South.
Down South, leaders Pleasantville got back to winning ways, 3-0 over Pt Fortin East to climb to 16 points from seven matches, five more than Princes Town West which was held goalless by Siparia West while Vessigny and Moruga drew 2-2.
At the end of each zone’s two rounds of round-robin matches, the zonal champions will qualify to the Championship Division “Big-Five” from which the top three teams will be promoted to the Premier Division.
