QRC CONFIRMED AS WINNERS

Queen's Royal College (QRC) have been awarded the win and a full three points from their aborted fixture with Fyzabad Secondary at their St Clair ground on September 26 in the BGTT/First Citizens Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL).

The match was blown off approximately ten minutes from full-time, as referee Larry Lalchan was unable to maintain order as things spiralled out of control, spilling onto the sidelines.

Fyzabad's Ronaldo London struck QRC midfielder Janos Lashley in the face after they both contested an air ball close to the touchline near the home bench.

Jahrique Stewart raced off the Royalians bench to confront London, which incited corresponding reactions from the Fyzabad bench, resulting in the match taking a lengthy pause. Both teams had to play out the following two matches without the official result from the fixture, as the Discplinary Committee of the SSFL were still perusing the match report and considering the evidence presented.

The committee met last Friday, when the decision was made that the result would be awarded in favour of the Royalians, who were leading 3-2 at the point when the match had been abandoned. Therefore, QRC now have 13 points from eight matches, which moved them up from ninth to seventh place before kick-off yesterday.
