Presentation College San Fernando did not disappoint in their second-to-last game of the Premier Division of the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) yesterday, hammering Trinity College East 6-0 at home to hold on to a mathematical chance of winning the title.

They got double strikes from Ackeel Jacob in the 22nd and 87th minutes and the prolific Darnell Hospedales in the 33rd and 38th, with other goals coming from Omri Baird in the 32nd and Jayie Sheppard in the 74th, which assured them maximum points. The result ensured the southerners remain in third position on 29 points, just one behind leaders St Anthony’s and second Naparima College, both on 30 points but separated by goal difference.

Presentation will next face Fatima College tomorrow in their final game at Fatima Ground, needing to win to have a chance at clinching the title. A win will put them on 32 points, which means that they will only be assured of the precious silverware if St Anthony’s and Naparima are beaten tomorrow.

In another game yesterday lowly Trinity College Moka edged Signal Hill 1-0 in the sister-isle of Tobago to move to 11 points and out of the relegation zone. Their lone strike came from the boot of Keshoun St Rose in the 18th minute.
