It will take a near miracle to deprive Presentation College Chaguanas of a hat trick of wins in the central zone of the BG T&T Secondary Schools Football League competition.
The defending champs registered their seventh straight victory when they cruised past the struggling Union Claxton Bay Senior Comprehensive 5-0 at the Ato Boldon Stadium Couva yesterday. "Pres" took their points tally to 21, eight more than second placed Carapichaima Senior Comprehensive, with Marabella Junior Secondary occupying third position on 12.
Pres scored all their goals against UCB in the first half of play, with a hat trick from Marvin Manswell, the zone's leading scorer, while Anthony Ogarro and Dion Lewis netted one each.
At Carapichaima, it was sweet revenge from the home team when they beat Marabella Junior Secondary 3-0. "Carps" got a double from Terrence Smith and another from Okan Ross. In the first round, Marabella shocked Carps, getting home 2-1.
In the other game at Tabaquite, the home team had to come from behind to edge Chaguanas Senior 2-1. Chaguanas led 1-0 at the half with an item from Jumar Lucas. But Renaldo Fraser scored a double for Tabaquite to seal the issue for his team.
