16-Jan-2004 - Ex-St Anthony’s and Fatima College forward Steve Sealy continued to reel in the awards following his freshman season at the University of Connecticut, USA. 
St James-born Sealy, a member of the “Westmoorings Tigers” Grand Slam wining team of 2002 in the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL), was named to the CollegeSoccerNews.com All-Freshmen Third Team by the Web site.
Sealy, a forward for Connecticut, led the team in scoring for the majority of the season, and ended with five goals and four assists for 14 points.
Having played and started in all 21 games, Sealy also added three game-winning goals, and was a two-time Big East Rookie of the Week this season. Sealy was named to the 2003 All-Big East Rookie Team. Sealy was also named to the NSCAA/Addidas All-New England Second Team.
In related news, Sealy, who represented T&T at both national youth and senior team level, will be joined at UCONN by his former St Anthony’s College captain, defensive midfielder Julius James for the 2004 collegiate season.
James, a member of the national Under-17 team at the 2001 Under-17 World Championship, led the Tigers to another national double-sweep in the 2003 SSFL season.
The Maloney resident left T&T on Wednesday on a full four-year scholarship after helping the Tigers to 10 titles.
After transferring to St Anthony’s from St James Government Secondary in Form Three, James, now 19, was part of the St Anthony’s team that won two national RBTT Inter-Col and British Gas National League crowns. He was also part of four of its North Zone league title triumph and two Zonal Inter-Col winning teams.
James is also in the running for the SSFL 2003 Boys’ “Player of the Year” award along with Arima Senior Comprehensive’s Gorian Highley. The SSFL awards ceremony takes place at the Rudranath Capildeo Resource Learning Centre on Tuesday from 5pm.

Steve Sealey named top rookie in NCAA.

8-Oct-2003 - Former St Anthony’s College striker Steve Sealey is enjoying a fine run for the University of Connecticut in Division One of the American NCAA.
Sealey who made his debut for T&T earlier this year, scored the winner for UCONN to lead them to a 2-1 victory over Villanova on the weekend.
Sealey was named “Rookie of the Week” and his team is in second spot in their zone.
He also set up UCONN’S opening goal, when after being fouled, he pushed the resulting free kick to Andres Rota who fired home after just five minutes.
Sealey continues the exploits of Scottish-based midfielder Brent Rahim and Daren Lewis who led Uconn to the title in 2000.
Meantime, Scott Sealey’s Wake Forest secured a 2-0 win over NC State to carry their unbeaten home run to 23 matches. Sealey enjoyed a productive spell last season, finishing the team’s third leading scorer with six goals and five assists.
His college is ranked 10th in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Another ex-CIC stand out, striker Nigi Adogwa scored a double in a losing effort for Duke University against Harvard Crimson in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Adogwa was Duke’s leading scorer last season with eight goals.
