The 2015 season of Trinidad and Tobago Women's League Football (TT WoLF) will commence on the May 16 at a yet to be determined venue.

The league competition was officially announced last Saturday at the TTFA's Hasely Crawford Stadium Office. Prizes will be awarded on May 9 for last season's outstanding performers. There will be six teams making their first appearance in the first division this season.

This year's competition features 22 teams and two divisions. The premier division includes eight teams, including promoted newcomers MOS Schoolaz and Petrotrin, as well as the usual suspects Real Dimension, Central FC, St. Augustine FC, Point Fortin Civic and of course, reigning league champions St. Ann's Rangers FC. The National U-15 Girls team are the final participants in the premier division, as they use the league action as preparation for international competition. Defence Force women's team however, were relegated to the first division.

The first division will have 14 teams contesting for the top two spots, which gain them promotion to next year's top flight. Among these clubs, there are six newcomers including; Queen's Park CC, Malvern, Crown Trace, Waterloo Starlets, Tobago Chicas and George and Anita Russell Sporting Academy. St Ann's Rangers and Petrotrin will also have their "B" teams participating in the first division.

This season will feature the league as well as the FA Cup competition which will feature all the teams from the two divisions vying for the title. The WoLF administration is enthused by the inclusion of the new clubs as it signals an increased interest to participate in women's football.

Jinelle James, Media Officer for the TT WoLF, told the Express that competition in the premier division should be fairly even in comparison to recent seasons, where one-sided games were the norm. According to her, teams are more prepared, and followers of local women's football should expect a few surprises along the way.
