It was a frustrating afternoon for the Queen’s Park Cricket Club, as they had to wait until almost midway into the second half before opening the score at the St Mary’s Ground.

Winger Brittany Farah scored the lone goal in the 64th minute to help QPCC, one of the favourites in the Ricarda Nelson Group, to a 1-0 victory over the Diego Martin Central team in Women’s League Football action, yesterday.

The opening exchanges were untidy as no one was able to establish a foothold in the match. The Diego Martin contingent, who were level on nine points in the table with QPCC at the start of the day, came into the match with their game plan; which was to press with a high defensive line at every opportunity.

Diego had the best chance overall in the first half, as Breanna George wrapped her left foot around the ball for her free kick which had to be tipped over by the QPCC custodian, who was otherwise uncontested for the rest of the match.

The win brought QPCC up to three points behind Real Dimension, who had defeated them 3-0 at the same ground a fortnight ago.

WoLF action continues across the country today.
