The T&T Under-17 Women’s team, continued their fine run of success in the Premier Division of the 24th Women’s League Football hosted by the T&T Women’s Football Association, by thrashing Petrotin 3-0 in yesterday’s match at the St Mary’s Village Ground Carapichaima.

Annique Walker netted the first goal for her team while Jo-Marie Lewis put the match out of Petrotrin’s reach when she neted a double. Coached by Norwegian Even Pellerud, the Under-17 team are using the league as part of their preparations for next year’s Fifa Under-17 Women’s World Cup which will be held in T&T.

It is their second win in as many matches, having drubbed defending champions, Real Dimension 8-1 last week, and the victory will no doubt be a boost to their confidence ahead of the World Cup. In First Division action, Asha Charles found the back of the net twice, to help Trincity Nationals to a 5-3 victory over Mayaro in the only match played in their division. Patrice Williams and Akeema Joseph managed to get their names on the scoreboard for Mayaro, but it was not enough, to prevent a convincing win by their opponents.
