SIDEY’S are one victory away from capturing the 2014 Premier Division title in the Tobago Football Association.

The men from Speyside, watched by a cheering band of fans, drubbed Lambeau 4-0 at their “home” ground on Wednesday, to lead the division by four clear points ahead of Youth Stars.

But “The Stars”, who were chasing the leaders just one point back, suffered a surprise 2-0 shut out by Roxborough Lakers at the Cyd Gray Complex.

Carron Bishop, the prolific Pavel Warrick, Shaquille Denoon and Kyle Davidson all scored one goal each for Speyside.

And Kirn Harris and Dyke Reid netted one goal apiece for Lakers to put the title virtually out of the reach of Youth Stars.

The Speyside men have 28 points from their 12 games while Youth Stars are on 24.

Sidey’s still have Georgia at Riverbank on Sunday and Lakers at Speyside to play, while Youth Stars must face lowly Mason Hall USSS and Georgia, both games at the Cyd Gray Complex. All matches are scheduled for Sunday and Wednesday.

Bethel got a valuable three points from their 3-1 victory over Black Rock at Mt Gomery, with Christopher McMillan, Harold Williams and Renaldo John scoring for the winners. Vaughn Taylor got the lone goal for the losing team.

Meanwhile, Golden Lane who topped the Championship Division with Moriah Youths as runner-up have earned automatic promotion to the Premier Division.

Carnbee/Mt Pleasant topped the standings in Division one with Goodwood United second.
