First round action in the Tobago Football Association (TFA) came to a tight end last weekend with Georgia United holding the high ground on goals scored over defending champions Stokely Vale.

Both clubs accumulated 22 points with the identical record of seven wins and a pair of draws and losses.

They both also concluded their first-round fixtures with a plus-two goal difference.

Ex-champs Georgia (19 goals), who have not captured the silverware for sometime, claimed the top spot as they scored more goals than Stokely Vale (17).

Roxborough Lakers (19 points), the 2007 FA Cup winners, held on to third spot in the standings, despite a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Charlotteville Unifiers.

In a rare win for 2005 champs Unifiers (11 points) on their home pitch, Kervin McKenna got the game-winner for the hosts, who occupy a disappointing third-to-last place on the table going into the second phase.

In recent games, Sidey's FC (18) jumped four places to fourth with a timely 2-0 win over St Clair Coaching School (16), who suffered their third straight defeat to close off the first round.

Coaching School finished in sixth after being in the top five for the better part of the round.

Kester Kent and Kerwin Johnson provided both items for Sidey' FC.

The TFA's Premier Division and the Eastern and Western Conferences will take a short break to accommodate the first round of the FA Cup, which kicked off on Tuesday.
