FORMER champions Charlotteville Unifiers were held to a 2-2 draw by newly-promoted Classic Tours Goodwood in a bottom-of-the-table clash in the Digicel Tobago Football Association (TFA) league last Friday.

Playing at home, Goodwood, who are likely to spend just one season in the top flight after gaining promotion last season, got a goal from Brian Martin, while the other item came off an opposing player to help them salvage a point.

Unifiers, the 2005 title-holders who are lying in second-to-last position, got their items from Edson Marcelle and Keishawn Dillon.

The point pushed the ex-champs to 16 from 17 outings, while Goodwood are rooted to the bottom with seven from 17 matches.

The other club likely to accompany Goodwood on their way back to the Conference should come from Unifiers (15 points), Bethel United (18), and Dominion SS Golden Lane (20)

Back-to-back FA Cup winners Roxborough Lakers and Castara Retreats Goal City also drew 1-1 in the second game of Friday's double-header at Goodwood.

Kerlon Ferguson netted for Goal City and Sellon Gray for Lakers (29 points), who went past their next door neighbours Sidey's FC into fourth spot.

Goal City (24) remained in sixth place on the table.

Four-time champions St Clair Coaching School (32) also stayed put in third on the standings, despite a 6-0 flogging of eighth-placed Mega Brite Bethel United (22 points).

Keon Samuel had a brace, while there was a goal each from Keon Price, Carron Williams, Junior Noel and Vernon Wilson.

At the front of the pack, Georgia United are on course to land the title. They lead the race with 44 points from 18 matches, with three more to go.

The leaders need four points from their remaining games to secure the honours.

They can muster 53 points overall.

On the other side, defending champions Stokely Vale, who have been playing catch-up for most of the campaign, have 35 points with a game in hand and can make 47 points in their remaining outings.
