Roxborough Lakers and Stokely Vale will contest the Tobago Football Association Invitational Big-Eight final after comfortable semifinal victories at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet on Friday last.

Lakers came from behind twice to beat the much fancied St Clair’s Coaching School on penalty-kicks. Coaching School took the lead in the fourth minute through Jerome Toby but Lakers drew level through captain Sellon Gray in the 12th minute.

Coaching School regained the lead when Daryl Trim reacted to a shot that came off the crossbar to tap home in the 47th minute. Lakers mounted a sustained attack on the youthful Coaching School and were rewarded with six minutes left when defender Zikomo Denoon inadvertently got one into his own goal to send the match into extra-time which also failed to separate the teams.

Penalty kicks saw Lakers prevailing 7-6 to set up a meeting with Stokely Vale in tomorrow’s final at the same venue. In the night’s second match, 1976 FC Phoenix’s poor start to the season continued as they were easily swept aside 3-1 by Stokely Vale.

Goals from Dominic Mc Dougall (12th), Antonio Balfour (67th) and Tyronne Manning (85th) were sufficient to keep Phoenix at bay despite the consolation item from goalkeeper Jeffery Delpeche, an 81st penalty.
