A hattrick by attacking right winger Josh Johnson and another item by striker Kerry Noray saw former Pro League champions CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh romp to their first win of the 2005 season—coming away 4-1 victors over United Petrotrin at the Hasely Crawford Stadium Jabloteh needed maximum points in this game in order to get their season back on track—and under newly appointed Coach Englishman Terry Fenwick, they started cautiously and went into the dressing rooms at the half goalless.

However, on the resumption the boys from San Juan got it right, as the slippery Josh Johnson took advantage of some poor defending by the ‘oilmen’. Johnson opened the scoring two minutes into the 2nd half blasting the ball from within the six yard box pass Colin Belgrave in goal for Petrotrin.

In the 53rd minute—diminutive striker Kerry Noray somehow got above everyone and headed home a corner kick and Jabloteh were comfortably ahead 2-0.

Josh Johnson then rounded off his hattrick with strikes in the 55th and 71st minutes. United Petrotrin got a lone item in the 76th minute with their top goal scorer so far Kennedy Hinkson getting himself back on the score sheet.

San Juan Jabloteh now shoot up the standings to 4th behind—runaway leaders Vibe CT 105 W Connection, Caledonia AIA and Defence Force—the San Juan based unit is now joint 5 points with the Defence Force.

United Petrotrin now find themselves in 6th place on 3 points.

San Juan Jabloteh’s Head Coach—Terry Fenwick

“I don’t think we are near the quality side, I left here two years ago, its no doubt we still have some talented players and I just need to spend some time with them and maximize their abilities.”

“However, it was great to get three points, and we will be working very hard, to maintain our winning ways.”

“Aurtis Whittley, Kerry Noray and Trent Noel stood out in my mind—but we need to start working as a team and not play too much individual football.”

United Petrotrin’s Head Coach—Brian Williams

“We did extremely well to hold Jabloteh in the first half—and at this stage of our development, we have to approach each game a bit cautiously, especially against the likes of Jabloteh and W Connection.”

“The game really fell apart for us when the boys started to lose concentration and we received 3 goals in 7 minutes and that was our downfall.”

“Its all coming down to a lack of concentration and mistakes in defence that’s costing us—But I assure you we will improve—we will come on, as time goes along.”
