National under-17 attacker Brent Sam scored the opening goal, which led Defence Force to its third win of the campaign and a much needed one, as the club defeated T&TEC 2-0 in the same age division, when action continued in the Oasis Youth Pro League, on Sunday.

Defence Force, which suffered four losses from six matches prior to Sunday’s match day effectively prevented T&TEC from moving into second place with the result. Sam scored in the 14th minute, which was followed by a Daniel Banfield item five minuted from full-time.

The Teteron Boys of the u-15 division, however, missed its chance to go joint top of the standings with St Ann’s Rangers as they were beaten 2-1 by T&TEC.

Dareem Daniel scored an equaliser for Defence Force following Kevin Wharfe’s opener in the 20th minute, but Remuel Medina stole all three points for the victorious Electricity Boys with a goal just after the hour-mark.

The day opened with yet another Defence Force victory in the u-13 division. The same two teams met with Defence Force walking away easy 5-1 winners.

Denzil Joseph’s first minute goal spurred the team on to score a flurry of goals, two of which were scored by Brandon Semper and Tyrique Sutherland, each. Keishaun Figaro scored T&TEC’s only goal.

North East Stars remained on top of the u-13 table with a perfect seven wins in as many matches, courtesy of a 6-1 demolition of Central FC. Kesean Hackshaw scored a first-half double for the victors, while Jelani Sampson recorded a brace and Jabari Rowley the last goal of the match.
