POINT FORTIN CIVIC FC will look for a second victory in three days when they take on St Ann’s Rangers today in mid-week Digicel Pro League action at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya.

Pro League football action continue today with three matches. Point Fortin face Rangers in the opening match of a MLS double-header from 6 pm, followed by an 8 pm clash between Jabloteh and W Connection. At the Ato Boldon Stadium, Police will host Caledonia from 6 pm.

On Saturday, Civic broke a six-match winless streak when convincingly defeating Police 5-0 at Mahaica Oval. Civic were clearly inspired by the emotional funeral of fallen former national defender and Point Fortin-born Akeem Adams, which was held at the same venue a day earlier.

Bevon Bass opened the scoring in only the second minute of play against the visiting Police, who managed to keep the score that way until the break. But in the second half, Marcus Joseph, who represented T&T at the 2007 Under-17 World Cup in South Korea and the 2009 Under-20 World Cup in Egypt alongside Akeem Adams, produced a hat-trick with goals in the 59th, 76th and 89th minutes, only interrupted by an 82nd minute item by Andre Toussaint.

The result pushed Point Fortin two spots up the ladder into sixth position, joining third positioned Caledonia AIA, fourth positioned Central FC, fifth positioned Defence Force and seventh positioned Police, all on 13 points. Ahead of them are second placed North East Stars with 17 points and unbeaten leaders DIRECTV W Connection well ahead on 26 points.
