W Connection extended its winless run to three matches on Thursday night with a goalless draw against Caledonia AIA at the Ato Boldon Stadium.
But despite dropping points in succession, the Digicel Pro League leaders are 8 points ahead of the pack with 34 points.
Meanwhile Caledonia, coming off last Saturday's 2-1 loss against Point Fortin Civic, moved up a spot into fifth with 22 points and only ahead of Police by goal-difference.
Police were scheduled to meet North East Stars on Saturday in their Round Two Match Day Nine fixture, but that contest has been postponed to March 11. as the lawmen are expected to perform policing duties from this weekend and throughout the Carnival period.
Instead, the fourth positioned North East Stars will next the defending league champions Defence Force from 6 pm at the Marvin Lee Stadium on Tuesday 25 February in a rescheduled Round Two Match Day Three fixture.
But the soldiers, with five games in hand and seventh, will join three other teams in a double header at the Ato Boldon Stadium on Friday 21 February.
Bottom of the table St. Ann's Rangers are against third positioned Central FC from 6 pm and from 8 pm Defence Force will tackle eight positioned San Juan Jabloteh, all hoping for more than the single point achieved by Caledonia and Connection.
Connection, coming off a hard-fought 2-2 draw against bitter rivals Central, were less than a shadow of themselves, while Caledonia's poor offence this season, showed up again on Tuesday night.
An unmarked Noel Williams was denied a goal in the 22nd minute, heading a Tyrone Charles cross towards the upper corner, but Connection goalie Julani Archibald measured the effort to keep it out.
Caledonia had another great opening in the 29th minute but Keyon Edwards scoffed inside the area after meeting Stephan David's ball over the top, and in the follow-up, Akim Armstrong's strike was charged down by defender Daneil Cyrus.
Connection midfielder Joevin Jones had a look at goal seconds before the halftime blow of referee Larry Lalchan's whistle, but dragged a low right-footed strike wide of the far post.
And twenty minutes inside the second period the midfielder had another crack, this time off his favoured left boot, and was just short of finding the inside of the far netting.
The leaders’ best chance of breaking the deadlock came six minutes from time however goalkeeper Shemel Louison pulled off a magnificent one-handed diving save, pushing behind a low blast from Gerard Williams.
And from the resulting corner, the Caledonia goalie was well positioned to gather Stefano Rijssel's acrobatic effort off the near upright.
