DEFENDING CHAMPIONS CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh will engage 2004 FCB Cup Champions Vibe CT 105 W Connection from 5 p.m. at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva, as the regular season of the T&T Pro League closes today.

And while those heavyweights battle, leaders North East Stars take on the Defence Force in another key fixture at the Hasely Crawford Stadium from 5 o'clock. There are also two matches tomorrow featuring the other teams in the Pro League.

All of the top clubs will be looking for maximum points today, as they carry forward the points they have accumulated from the three-round regular season into the Top Six playoffs, which will decide the 2004 Pro League champions.

That series starts on Wednesday and will see each of the six qualifiers playing an additional five league matches.

The Top Six playoffs run until November 5 and involve North East Stars, Jabloteh, Connection, Starworld Strikers, Defence Force and Arima-Morvant Fire.

The team finishing at the head of the standings at the end of the Top Six playoffs will be crowned this year's T&T Pro League champs.

Having ended up in the bottom two position of the Pro League after three rounds of games, South West Drillers and Tobago United have been eliminated from the battle for league honours.

Instead, they will play for the right to compete in the 2005 Pro League against the top four finishers in the National Super League.

The top two finishers in that series will play in the 2005 Pro League.
