Neal and Massy Caledonia AIA Technical Director and Coach of the Guyanese national team Jamaal Shabazz has recently named himself the Head Coach of the Pro League Club demoting Coach Jerry Moe as his assistant, and the former national womens national coach is also promising to be more involved with the team than he was last season.

Speaking with ‘ttproleague.com’ Shabazz confirmed he would takeover as Head Coach of the Morvant based Club, “This season I would be more involved with Caledonia. I wasn’t able to do much with the team last season because of my stint in Guyana as the national team coach. I would be the Head Coach of Caledonia this season and regular Coach Jerry Moe would be the assistant coach,” said Shabazz who says he will also continue as the Guyanese national team coach.

“I am still the national team Coach of Guyana but my plan is to have as much of the Guyanese national players here in Trinidad.”

Caledonia is also equipped with the Guyanese national team Brazilian fitness trainer, Americo Falopa for a two year period according to Shabazz.

“Falopa who is the Trainer and Fitness Coach of the Guyanese National Team is going to be with us for a two year period. It’s a joint deal between the Guyanese Football Federation and Caledonia AIA for him to be part of our Club.”

“We are also going to start an extensive youth program in the Morvant area and Americo Filopa is going to play a major role there also,” explained the Guyanese Coach.

Filopa who graduated from the Sao Paulo University joined the Guyanese national team in January of this year as their Fitness Coach and helped prepare the team for the Digicel Caribbean Cup Finals hosted in Trinidad in that same month.

With the Club’s new developments, Shabazz is now certain of an improved performance in 2007.
“We are now in a great position to compete and we are going to have a much better season than we did in 2006. Thanks to the Sports Company and Neal and Massy we now have a quality squad, a quality staff and a strong desire to win,” ended the Caledonia AIA Coach.

Meantime, Shabazz also took the time to reveal that Neal and Massy Caledonia AIA now have their official Club office located in Tunapuna.
