Coach of United Petrotrin Brian Williams was a happy man after his team enjoyed a 5-0 drubbing of fellow strugglers Police in the second game of a double header at the Larry Gomes Stadium.

Coming into the game with five straight losses that included a loss to perennial table proppers Tobago United, the Oilmen was anxious to have a turn around in fortunes and did so in fine style.

Speaking to ttproleague.com the former Strike Squad defender could not contain his joy about the win, "A bit of smiles and good feelings today it was good for the performance of the team".

He stated that he had to make some changes to his squad going into the game, "We had to make some changes, we played some younger players in the squad tonight players who are a little more hungry and who really want to play we had to make that adjustment in the squad and I think the result tells for itself".

The dreadlock coach pointed to the score being a historic one, "5-0 I think it is history because since Petrotrin came into the Pro League, this is our third year now we have not won a game by five clear goals and I think it was a great achievement for the young team and I must compliment them."

The former National Under-20 coach hinted that some in house cleaning may have been the reason for this victory and he hoped this would kick start his team season after the break, "We had to do some in house cleaning and soul searching in the camp and after losing five straight, I am now seeing the old hunger back since we enforced some heavy disciplinary measures in the camp".

Coach Williams stated the victory showed the depth of his team, "The victory shows that their are players on the team that can step to the plate and handle the situation and get out there an play and so for the rest of the season, we will be trying to continue to build from here and accumulate the points as the season goes on".

The man who led Petrotrin to last year's Toyota Classic victory was cautious about over confidence stepping into his team, "We do not want to be too overjoyed about this victory because we want to get three points on Saturday when we face Tobago."
