Veteran Vincentian striker Kendall Velox was among the goals as he helped Caledonia AIA earn an unlikely 2-2 draw with Defence Force in the Pro League at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar on Tuesday.
The burly striker Devon Jorsling had given Defence Force a comfortable 2-0 advantage with goals in the 10th and 22nd minute before Velox reduced the deficit on the half-hour mark.

Second-half substitute Akim Armstrong stole a share of the points for Caledonia, when he scored two minutes from full-time.

At the Manny Ramjohn Stadium in Marabella, W Connection moved to within two points of leaders, CLICO San Juan Jabloteh after a 5-0 pounding of United Petrotrin.

After having its weekend match against Tobago United postponed due to a water-logged field at Arima, W Connection showed little signs of being sluggish and stormed into a 1-0 lead thanks to a strike from Trinidad and Tobago defensive midfielder Clyde Leon in the eighth minute.

Despite dominating the early exchanges, W Connection had to wait until the 33rd minute for their second goal from Teba Mc Knight and four minutes later, Dominican Republic striker, Jonathan Frias added his name to the list of scorers for a healthy 3-0 cushion at the break.

Petrotrin managed to stem the flow of goals for most of the second-half, until defender Nichcolson Thomas banged in a fourth for W Connection in the 80th minute.

Things got worse for Petrotrin four minutes later as national team defender Makan Hislop, who was cautioned in the 22nd minute, picked up his second yellow-card in the 84th minute and was given marching orders.

To add to Petrotrin’s misery, Frias had time to add his second of the match, and the team’s fifth, one minute later.

With the win, W Connection improved to 31 points from 15 matches, two adrift of Jabloteh, who were held to a 1-1 draw by a surging St Ann’s Rangers in the first match at Marabella while Caledonia is third with 27 points.
