United Petrotrin is yet to make an official statement on the new role of Brian Williams after he was relieved of his head coach role with their TT Pro League club last week.

But it is understood that the former T&T international is still attached with the club although being replaced by former Carapichima Senior Comprehensive School coach Leon Carpette as head coach of United Petrotrin.

Williams’ new role is said to be working with United Petrotrin’s Community Youth Development program for the remainder of the year.

Williams who led the team to titles in 2005 and 2006, with the Lucozade Sport Big Six and Toyota Classic respectively left the team in fifth position on the League on his departure after Round Two.

However Williams’ sacking or, demotion as some may call, it came following a poor run of form, without wins in their last 12 outings.

In early September Petrotrin went from ‘bad to worse’ losing their ace forward Jerrol Forbes and teammate Beville Joseph to League leaders CLICO San Juan Jabloteh, after the Oilmen failed to renew contracts with the forwards.

But Petrotrin, according to a source, is expected to add new players to their roster in the coming weeks as the look to gather themselves for a top six finish this season.
