“Growth, development and continued commitment to football in Trinidad and Tobago, in a nutshell that’s the objective of the T&T Pro League for 2005 and beyond,” so says CEO Mr. Dexter Skeene.


Skeene is heading into his second season at the helm of the Pro League and he is very optimistic over the prospects for 2005.

On January 5 2005 the League held its first of two Strategic Planning sessions. Chairing the meeting was well known management consultant Anthony Watkins and present were the directors of all the professional Clubs in the country.

According to Skeene, they thought it necessary to review the 2004 season, look ahead, and plot a new vision for 2005 and beyond. The former national footballer said “We are currently formulating objectives and planning strategies for 2005, the Pro League remains committed to the development of local football and ensuring that a high level of professionalism is part of our game. We want to see professional football grow as an industry in Trinidad and Tobago and we also want to play our part in assisting T&T in qualifying for a world cup.” Skeene added that another Strategic planning session is scheduled for Monday 17 January 2005 where he says there will be a finalization of plans and objectives for 2005.

The Pro League’s Chief Executive Officer is very excited about the up coming season and is committed to building on the progress made in 2004 such as the Pro Bowl, FCB Cup and thrilling League race. He promises that the League will be working on several key areas this coming season namely

(1) Increased spectator participation.

(2) Connecting with the communities to ensure awareness of the High standard of football that the TT Pro League offers and

(3) Arriving at a consensus with regard to its development objectives.

The Pro League 2005 Season is expected to get underway in April 2005.
