St. Ann’s Rangers are looking forward to rebound from last season’s poor form singing goalkeeper Daurance Williams, Kwame Wiltshire, Odelle Armstrong, Kaashif Thomas and Glen Walker.
“I think we have a better team than last year and would do much better in the upcoming season,” said team manager Richard Piper this week.
Piper confirmed the new signings adding the goalkeeper Williams will plug a major hole.
“Rangers have always been traditionally strong in attack, however we have been disappointing especially in the goalkeeping department.
“We are now hopeful that Daurance will give our team a good balance by adding safety between the uprights,” said Piper.
The 27 yearold Daurance Williams is a former Trinidad and Tobago international and previously played with top clubs San Juan Jabloteh and Joe Public. Also moving across from Joe Public is defensive midfielder Kaashif Thomas and Beville Joseph.
While Kwame Wiltshire is another familiar signing, the 28 year-old attacking midfielder had stints with the T&T Senior Team, Joe Public, Tobago United and United Petrotrin among other stints in the US.
Former Defence Force and Caledonia AIA midfielder Odelle Armstrong is also expected to be a boost for the St. Ann’s based club as they hope to finish much better than last season’s ninth position.
Piper was also pleased to announce the return of striker Glen Walker who was brilliant for M&M Harvard of the Super League in the past few seasons.
“We have added some quality to the team and we expect them to do well for us,” continued the Rangers team manager. “They will team up with Adrian Narine, Devon Modeste, Josimar Belgrave, Javon Wilson, Elijah Belgrave and Ronald Musgrave as we look forward to an improved Rangers.”
Anthony Streete will continue as head coach, Dean Pacheco his assistant and Nigel Neverson (a former Police player and coach) has been signed as goalkeeper coach.
