DIRECTV North East Stars today announced their full squad to compete in the 2010/11 ProLeague, and the inclusion of a familiar face in the Sangre Grande outfit.

Defender, Charles Pollard joined Head Coach, Rod Underwood's squad, signing just a few days before the Stars season opener vs FC South End at the Mannie-Ramjohn Stadium Marabella on Saturday at 5pm.

Pollard, who elected to leave previous team, Joe Public to join the Stars said " I enjoyed my time at Joe Public. They are a big club and will always do well. However, my heart belongs to DIRECTV North East Stars, where I captained their last title winning team".

Guyanese Pollard is seen by his new coach to be a vital ingredient in a team looking to challenge for a top four position. "Of course, I have heard the Charles Pollard legend since I arrived at the club, and seeing the difference he has made to the squad since his arrival, I can see the stories are true" said Underwood.

"He has a presence that is felt throughout the team. His partnership in central defence with Brent Sancho will prove a huge obstacle to strikers throughout the league".

Director of Football Kevin Jeffrey said "When you consider that in February, we only had one player signed-Brent Sancho- we have assembled a formidable squad which will certainly compliment and bring excitement to this seasons Pro League.

A great deal of thanks must go to our main partner, DIRECTV as well as our other partners who have helped us to build this team".
