Amare Thomas netted a goal on either side of the half as W Connection blanked Caledonia AIA 2-0 to maintain its three point lead at the top of the Under-18 Division in the Oasis Youth Pro League on Sunday.
Thomas found the target in the 44th and 72nd minute for the “Savonetta Boys” to push their points tally to 34 from 14 matches, three ahead of bmobile Joe Public who have a match in hand.
Joe Public kept in the title race after a 4-0 hammering of St Ann’s Rangers 4-0 with a goal each from Kyle Bartholomew (18th), Keenaz Williams (44th), Curtly Doods (51st) and Neil Mitchell (78th).
However, third placed Ma Pau (29 points) who has also played 13 matches had its title bid jolted in a 0-0 draw with fourth placed Police (22 points).
In the Under-16 competition, W Connection saw its lead cut by one point after a 3-3 draw with Caledonia AIA.
