Antigua and Barbuda international Gayson Gregory is the latest signing by Bmobile Joe Public as head coach Derek King continues to strengthen his squad with present CONCACAF Champions’ League commitments.

King confirmed that the 28 year old attacking midfielder has been contracted until the end of 2011.

“We are hoping that he(Gregory) would give us depth up front,” said King. “He brings added experience to the team. We are now in the Group stage (of the CONCACAF Champions’ League) and having him in our team will be a plus.”

Gregory is no stranger to the Macoya based club having played for the Lions between 2001-2003 and in 2005. His experience playing with Trinidadian clubs also extended when he spent the 2007-2008 with San Juan Jabloteh before moving to the USL with Montreal Impact in 2008-2009.

“When Gregory left Jabloteh we wanted to sign him,” explained King. “But he left for Montreal (Impact). Since then we’ve always kept him on the Joe Public radar.”

Gregory who spent the 2009-2010 season in his homeland with Old Road FC says he is delighted to be back with Joe Public.

“I’ve been here before and I’m very comfortable with the environment at Joe Public,” he told www.ttproleague.com.

“It wasn’t a hard decision to make when I was approached by Joe Public. I believe that I can fit into the present formation of the team and help the club do well in the Champions’ League and defend its (Digicel Pro) League title.”

Gregory who represented Impact in the 2009 CONCACAF Champions’ League added that he will use the opportunity at Joe Public to showcase his talent in hopes of earning a bigger contract.

The Antiguan is expected to feature against Club Santos Laguna from 8pm at the Marvin Lee Stadium on Wednesday 18 August as Public in Public’s opening Group B Champions’ League.
