Dwight Quintero and Leon Gill scored a pair of goals each to lead bmobile Joe Public to a 6-3 thrashing of DirecTV North East Stars and with it the Oasis Youth Pro League Under-17 Division title on Thursday.
Quintero got his goals in the 29th and 72nd minutes while Gill netted his brace for Joe Public in the 70th and 85th minute at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya.
Marcus Gomez had opened the scoring for Joe Public in the 15th, while Shaquille Betrand added the other in the 54th minute.
For Stars, which trailed 2-1 at the half, Shayden Charles (37th), Jameel Sempel (69th) and Stephon David Jr (75th), got a goal each.
With the win, Joe Public pushed its points tally to an unassailable 51 from 18 matches, ten ahead of second placed Adam’s Construction San Juan Jabloteh, which can only reach 50 points should it win its three remaining matches.
Also on Thursday, W Connection Under-15 players joined their Under-13 clubmates in winners row as they edged T&TEC 2-1 to lift their age-group title.
Aswad Pilgrim fired the “Savonetta Boys” ahead after only five minutes before Jabari Mitchell made it 2-0 seven minutes into the second-half.
With ten minutes left in the match, Brendon Creed pulled a goal back for T&TEC, however, W Connection held on for the win to improve to 54 points from 19 matches, 11 more than Jabloteh which can only attain 52 points.
On Tuesday, W Connection won the Under-13 title and Thursday it added to its points total with a 6-0 blow-out of T&TEC led by a hat-trick from Jarod Gordon.
