#9 - Trevin Caesar Trinidad and Tobago U-23 standouts Trevin Caesar and Aquil Selby and 21 yearold Micah Lewis who was a recent part of the T&T National Team training squad have been snapped up by Caledonia AIA for the upcoming 2011-2012 Digicel Pro League Championship.

Caesar (22 years old) and Selby (21 years old) are former players of absent Ma Pau SC, while Lewis also became a free agent following the decision by former League winners Joe Public to pull out this season.

“We are definitely looking to improve on what we achieved last season, but more importantly we try to get players that can fit into our style of play,” explained Caledonia assistant coach Jerry Moe.

“Caesar is one of the few strikers who can run behind defences while we got ourselves a no-nonsense defender in Selby. He is solid in the air and aggressive on the ground and that gives us steel at the back.

“And Micah is a player we have always admired. He can play on both flanks and just need to bring the same player that he used to be at Joe Public.”

The trio has been training under Caledonia head coach Jamaal Shabazz and Moe in the past month.

Caledonia also acquired the services of former German-based forward Jamal Gay as the club signals its intentions of an improvement on last season’s runner-up finish in the League behind champs Defence Force.

The Caledonia squad seems evenly balanced with talent, experience and youth this season and from the transfer window shopping together with the standouts of last season, Moe expects improved team, especially in offence.

“We needed quality strikers and Jamal Gay is a good point of reference in our offensive department,” Moe said. “Unlike other forwards, Jamal would remain upfront and not find himself dropping into midfield to pick up the ball. It’s good to have good strikers contesting eachother for starting positions upfront.”

Experienced players Stephan David, Burton Sheldon Emmanuel, Densill Theobald and Travis Mulraine are in the mix with the talents of Akim Armstrong, Keyon Edwards, 17 year-old Guyanese Trayon Bobb, Jamaican goalkeeper Kevin Graham, Kemron Purcell, Tobagonian Kevon Woodley, Collin Nelson, second choice goalie Victor Thomas and pre-season pick Keda Roderick.
