The Soca Princesses, Trinidad and Tobago's senior national women's team, will need to beat Puerto Rico tonight after narrowly going under 1-0 to hostesses Venezuela on Monday, second night of action in the Central America and Caribbean (CAC) Games women's football tournament in Merida, Venezuela.

Venezuela, one of the improving women's teams in South America, were expected to be T&T's biggest obstacle to winning the CAC tournament.

The South Americans lead the standings with a maximum six points following an opening 2-1 win over Guatemala.

They are followed by Haiti who moved to four points, following up their 2-0 win over Puerto Rico with a 0-0 draw with Nicaragua.

After winning 4-0 over Nicaragua to start the tournament, the Trinidad and Tobago women are third on three points.

On Monday night, Puerto Rico and Guatemala tied 0-0 and are bottom of the standings on a point apiece.
