After making all the sacrifices to prepare over the past three months for the tournament, coming out with a 3-2 win in such a dramatic fashion against a formidable opponent in Guatemala was a stepping stone for us.
We played for each other and dug deep for the entire 93 minutes and when the whistle blew it was one of the greatest experiences in all our careers.
For me being the leader of the team and not being able to contribute much for the first three games due to injury was tough. But being able to come back and start against Guatemala and help my team to victory by scoring the winner, we couldn’t ask for anything better.”
The CAC Games experience playing over here in Venezuela has been wonderful. It feels like home, the people love us and enjoys each and every moment with us. It’s crazy to see how we are surrounded daily by security . The people welcome's us with open arms.
Playing five games in ten days is most times unheard of but we have managed to hold our own in those days. We want to thank Mr. Hugo Chavez for hosting this tournament because these games will definitely help us with our preparations for the Gold Cup.
Also these games have shown us the areas we need to improve on as a team and it also helps with us developing both tactically and technically in preparation for the Gold Cup,” she concluded.
On Sunday we are just going to play our game and try to prevent Haiti from playing their game. I think we are the better team but by the end of the day we have to come out and take care of business to be victorious.
We possessed the ball and used our speed much better in the Guatemala game than in the previous three games. Once we continue to execute our philosophy on the field we will win on Sunday.

NB: T&T's Kenyya Cordner, who scored T&T’s equalizer in the 3-2 win over Guatemala is currently the tournament’s topscorer with four goals. The T&T team, coached by Jamaal Shabazz will return home on Monday.
CONCACAF is guaranteed two berths in the 16-team World Cup in Germany in 2011 which will come from the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup scheduled to be played at an as yet-to-be-announced location in late October-early November.
The Concacaf third-place finisher will host the second leg of a two-game playoff with Europe's fifth-place finisher on November 27 for a third spot in next year's Women's World Cup.
