Trinidad and Tobago’s Under-20 women’s football team suffered a 0-2 loss against Brazilian professional outfit, Foz Cataratas, in a practice match held at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva, on Tuesday afternoon.

TECHNICAL Director of Trinidad and Tobago football Anton Corneal, who was part of the coaching staff for the TT Women’s team at the recent CONCACAF Under-20 World Cup Qualifier said yesterday that the performance of the team showed that the gap between this country and the top teams in the CONCACAF region has closed.

Brianna Ryce had an opportunity to play in the attacking third during the offseason, and it turned out to be quite an experience.

They might be out of the 2014 Women’s Under-20 World Cup but the performance of the T&T U-20 team at the Concacaf Women’s final round in Cayman Island has given an indication that there is hope for the local women’s game.

THE Trinidad and Tobago’s women’s football fraternity is banking on continued support from the Ministry of Sport and the Sportt Company to help them realise their dream of qualifying for Women’s World Cups.

The sound of pan music, clanking pot covers and chirpy calypso sing-alongs filled the air.  That’s all you heard.  Carnival -- ‘Trini’ style -- had taken over the Truman Bodden Sports Complex on a delightful Sunday evening.

President of the Republic, Anthony Carmona and Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) president Raymond Tim Kee both praised the performances of the national Under-20 women’s team who placed fourth in the 2014 CONCACAF Under-20 Women’s Championship in the Cayman Islands on Sunday.
