T&T Under-20 Soca Princesses will be seeking a victory when they come up against Cayman Islands in their opening match of the Caribbean Football Union Group B First Round Under-20 Women qualifier at the Dr Franklin Essed Stadium, Paramaribo, Suriname from 5 pm.

While it will be the first match for the Marlon Charles-coached Soca Princesses, Cayman Islands will be playing its second and final encounter in the three-team group after trouncing host Suriname 4-0 on Tuesday at the same venue.

Coutisha Ebanks opened the scoring for Cayman Islands in the 50th minute while Brianna Hydes (52nd), Marissa Mc Laughlin (64th) and Shanice Monteith (80th)  added the others.

A win for Cyman Islands will seal top spot in group, however a drawn result for both teams will leave the Soca Princesses needing to beat Suriname by five clear goals on Saturday in their final match to advance.

The local squad comprises a number of players who were part of the Under-17 team in last month’s CFU Under-17 qualifiers as well as the 2010 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup played here in T&T.

Group A which comprises, Cuba, Jamaica and St Lucia and begins  Friday in Cuba; Group C consists of host Haiti, Barbados, British Virgin Islands and St Kitts/Nevis (October 31 to November 4), while Group D will finish the first round November 2 to 6 in Guyana with the host competing against Anguilla, the Dominican Republic and Antigua & Barbuda.
