FC SANTA Rosa and Joe Public, the top two teams in the Emerald Apartments and Plaza-sponsored Eastern Football Association (EFA) 2011- 2012 season, were victorious in their recent matches in the Premiership Division.

MALABAR FC, recent winners of the Emerald Plaza and Apartments- sponsored Eastern Football Association (EFA) League Cup, advanced to the quarter-final round of the zone’s Cup competition with a convincing 3-1 win over Upper Santa Cruz in a first-round encounter.

Harlem Strikers were declared Central Football Association treble crown winners after it was awarded the Premier Division “Big-Six” title via protest action earlier this week. Strikers which had already won the CFA Ramsingh’s Sportworld FA Trophy and Sanitank League Cup lodged a protest on December 10, 2011 to the CFA’s Disciplinary Committee (DC) against Caroni Samba for the use of three players whom they claimed were not rightfully transferred from their previous clubs before playing in the competition. The players were Kwame Wiltshire, Nigel Daniel and Kemo Narcis. On December 23, 2011, the CFA’s DC agreed to accept as evidence a second letter from Strikers on the basis it referred to information in the first letter that three other players, Aaron Downing, Trevon Forbes and Fabian Lewis were identified only by facial recognition while verbal submission to include another player, Devon Drayton by the complainant was not accepted as it was ruled unconstitutional by the DC. In its response the DC which comprised Lennox Smith, Jimmy Henry and Michelle Williams noted it considered evidence as provided by both clubs and other evidence provided by the association’s records. In its ruling the DC said it was evident that at the day of the match involving both clubs, which Caroni won 4-1 (December 10), the quintet of Daniel, Wiltshire, Narcis, Forbes and Lewis were duly registered to play with Caroni.

Dorian Daniel scored three minutes into extra-time as Malabar FC edged Premier Division leader 1st FC Santa Rosa 1–0 in the Emerald Apartment and Plaza Eastern Football Association League Cup final at the Marvin Lee Stadium, Macoya on Saturday.

Four different players were on target as 1st FC Santa Rosa continued its march towards the Emerald Apartment and Plaza Eastern Football Association Premier Division crown with a 4-0 shut-out of WASA on Sunday.

Willan Garcia scored with two minutes left in the match as T&TEC held off a late fight back from Petrotrin Palo Seco to take the Southern Football Association League Cup final, 3-2 at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella on Tuesday night.

Queen’s Park Cricket Club, sitting at the top of the Media 21 Northern Football Association (NFA) Premier Division “Big Four,” will be looking for six points after two matches when they host RSSR, at the QPCC Ground, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain, today. The match will kick off at 4 pm.

On Saturday night, Strikers recorded a 3–0 shut-out of KC Perseverance United on penalty-kicks following a 1–1 draw in the FA Trophy decider.
