FORMER National Under-23 striker, Marcus Joseph was on target as Point Fortin Civic Centre maintained the lead atop the Premier Division of the Southern Football Association (SFA) with a slender 2-1 win over Petrotrin Palo Seco, last Saturday.

Joseph, a former Joe Public midfielder, spent the 2011-2012 season playing with T&TEC in the Pro League, before moving to Civic Centre this season.

Joseph and Andre Ettiene netted for Civic Centre, while Mickelle Charles scored for Palo Seco.

Victory kept Civic Centre top of the 11-team Premier League.

In their 11 matches to date, the Point Fortin-based team won nine times and drew twice, for 29 points--four more than second-placed T&TEC, with OJ s Soldado All Stars third on 23 points.
