Malabar FC got two goals in the final three minutes to edge neighbours FC Maloney 2-1, and maintain its slim lead at the top of the Eastern Football Association Premier Division at Larry Gomes Stadium, Malabar on Saturday.
After a 0-0 first-half, Shobare Hamilton fired Maloney into a 78th minute lead which lasted until the 87th minute, when Durwin Rosh got the equaliser before Robert Alexis banged home a 90th minute winner to push his team to 35 points from 14 matches, two ahead of La Horquetta SA which also had to work hard for a 1-0 triumph over St John’s United.
In the other match, WASA dented the title hopes of rivals, Joe Public with a 4-3 triumph, thanks to an 84th minute decisive strike from Keston Foster. The defeat left Joe Public third with 27 points from 14 matches, while WASA is fourth on 20.
The match between Carib and Valtrin at St Augustine, was rescheduled to Tuesday. In the First Division, there were comfortable victories for La Horquetta XF and SKHY over Creek and Crompton respectively. At the top of the table is T&T Prisons with 37 points from 15 matches, followed by La Horquetta (32) and Tunapuna Titans (30).
