University of Connecticut men's soccer player Julius James (Maloney Gardens, Trinidad) has been named a Preseason All-American by Soccer America, as announced on the publication's Web site Thursday. James is one of 23 players from around the country to receive the honor and one of five honorees from the BIG EAST Conference.

I love to play soccer, and for relaxation I read for most of the time. The other half of my time is spent with friends traveling around Georgia and Florida. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa and I was inducted into the society in the month of January 2007. I am also a Tiger Senator which basically means that I am an ambassador for the school.

Dane Christian enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Washington State women's soccer program after recently serving as the assistant varsity girl's coach for Moscow High School. In 2006 and 2007, he coached at the summer soccer camps for Washington State University and Oregon State University. Last spring he also coached an Under-18 Moscow United boy's team.

Brenton Joseph became the seventh head coach in men’s soccer history at Augustana when he accepted the position in June of 2007. He joins the Augustana staff after a 10 year run at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois where he held head coaching spots with both the men’s and women’s programs. Joseph replaces Scott Mejia, who compiled a 68-37-6 record in a six year stint with the Vikings that began in 2001. Mejia, who was the head coach for both the men and women, will now turn his full attention to the women’s program.

The complete list of 29, announced by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), was compiled by a panel of the organization's coaches.

Former National youth player Jason Devenish still has ambitions of representing Trinidad and Tobago at the international level and wants to ensure that his exploits don’t go unnoticed by the T&T Football Federation as it looks towards qualification for future World tournaments.
