Marvin Andrews never fails to amaze and impress with his fantastic attitude to life and despite being an unused substitute in Gers' last two matches, the towering stopper admits he is fully behind the manager's decision.

Alex McLeish has opted for the central defensive pairing of Jose-Karl Pierre-Fanfan and Julien Rodriguez in the last two matches against Famagusta and Hibs, leaving Marv on the bench.

The T&T international played superbly against Celtic on August 20 and although he hasn't featured for the Light Blues since, Andrews is philosophical about the situation.

There has never been a question mark over the former Livingston defender's commitment, even when there were concerns over his fitness due to a knee injury and he insists he will remain focused to be ready when called upon next.

He said: "The manager told me his reasons for picking the side against Famagusta and Hibs and I don't have a problem with that.

"At a club like Rangers there should be competition for places and it's good we have choices for the team selection.

"I support everything the manager does and when I am called upon to play I will do my best for Rangers Football Club.

"We have a strong squad and the players who have come in this summer have only improved us. "If we want to compete in the SPL and the Champions League then it's vital we all stay focused.

"It's great things are so competitive and everyone is fighting for their place because you should have to work hard to pull on that jersey.

"I'm really enjoying my football at the moment and will continue to train well and hopefully take my chance when it comes."
