Rochester Raging Rhinos defender Craig Demmin was selected to the A-League's First Team All-Star squad today.


It marks the fifth time that the native of Arima Trinidad has received the honor.



Also the Rhinos 2004 Most Valuable Player, Demmin was selected to the A-League's First Team squad following the 1998, '99 and 2000 seasons before joining the Tampa Bay Mutiny (MLS) for the 2001 campaign. Demmin returned to the Rhinos in 2002 and was selected as a second-team all-star.

In addition, Demmin received the Rhinos MVP award following the 1998, '99 and 2000 seasons. He has also earned the Rhinos leadership award after the 2003 and '04 seasons.

The Syracuse Salty Dogs and Montreal Impact will battle for the right to represent the Eastern Conference in the A-League title match on September 18. The Eastern Conference Finals will get under way at P & C Stadium this Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

When the to teams take the field on Friday, Rhinos fans will have plenty of interest as both sides are well represented by fomrer Rhinos. General Manager Tommy Tanner, defenders Rene Rivas and Scott Schweiter and midfielder Temoc Suarez lead the Salty Dogs.

On the other side of the ball, Montreal boasts Defender Gabriel Gervais, midfielders Mauro Biello and Yuri Lavrynenko and forwards Fred Commodore and Eduardo Sebrango.
