Whatever you do, do it to the purpose; do it thoroughly, not superficially. Go to the bottom of things. Any thing half done, or half known, is in my mind, neither done nor known at all. Nay, worse, for it often misleads.

It was a very good effort to win the game, especially so comfortably. However, I still feel that we're not closing out our innings properly. 57 runs in the last 10 innings is not good enough and it's a testament to England's lack of quality that our team is not playing up to it's limited overs potential and is still quite competitive. A better team would punish our shortcomings though.

All in all I am happy with the win and with the good things that the guys continue to do. The fielding (dropped catches aside) was pretty good, Chanders and Sarwan continue to bat well and our all rounders are doing the job with the ball. On to Barbados now.

Great win.
B4 Bravo took those wickets, i thought that things were looking bad for us, but kudos for a job well done.

Miller reAL fighting for his place boy.....the man showing real spirit in the field and bowling well.

Gayle surprise meh with that run out - well done. He make me eat some bad words i was muttering about him, but i dont mind, victory does counter the bad taste.

good keeping by ramdin

offcourse great batting by the guyanese duo.

True, but you can only beat what's in front of you. At least the team is learning how to win.

When was the last time this could be said of a West Indies team?

whoohoo!! good game- and exciting finish!!
WI really fought for this win- that's what we want...
Bravo made a really great comeback and Miller made a great contribition to the team!!
now hard luck for Simmons- I wonder if he will get another chance- even tho' his fielding is superior
to devon S. the selectors really like him so we'll see.. I hope they let simmons play again in Bdos
he needs to keep trying - I just know he will come good with persistence...
well done WI :beermug:

FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!

Down in New Zealand they showed fight.
They fought to save the test in Antigua, and in the Oval.

Barring Dyson's faux pas, they should be up 2 0.
And yesterday, the fielding and bowling, well.................
Not to mention Sars and Chanders batting, which is a given.

I cannot recall in the past 15 years where the Windies have
shown this much gumption.

Kudos to Gayle and men!

Keep fighting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well the good news is we get to play England some more when we tour there next. Good chance against a relatively equal opponent away from home.

But you're right, we'll need to step it up by the time India gets here.

As most have said here, what is encouraging to see is that in every game we have shown fight and stayed in the game and in fact we won our fair share of games. It started in South Africa, continued in NZ and continuing now. That's a relatively long stretch of competitive cricket by the WI.

When was the last time this could be said of a West Indies team?

I understand this point, but what happens when what is in front of you is no longer as easy? An old coach of mine once told the team I was training with that you must prepare yourself for the strongest possible opposition who punishes everything, not the mediocre one who will forgive mistakes. I'd like to believe that we're aiming higher than England.

Barring Dyson's faux pas, they should be up 2 0.

How are we so sure that we would have won that first game? At the point we took the offered light all our recognised batsmen were back in the pavillion and the pressure was on as we needed 27 runs from 20 balls. We've lost matches from better positions than that. I'm not saying we would have lost, but we can't take it for granted that had the match continued we'd have won either.
