Cornell back from injury
« on: March 28, 2005, 12:38:08 PM »
He played for 65 minutes in an exhibition match against de Colorado Rapids last night.

He had one chance:
Cannon was called upon again in the 25th minute, when he saved a one-on-one play against Dallas’ Cornell Glen. The strong winds that prevailed throughout the entire game made the long balls drop right behind the defenders’ backs, as it did in this play, leaving Glenn alone against Cannon, who made himself big at the top of the penalty area to block the shot with his chest and clear the danger.

Player Summary:
Glen showed some pace, but seemed lost on the right wing.  He just wasn't real dangerous or effective.  Still the pace and touch look to be there, he may just need more time or a move to the target spot.

its too late for that. can't fly him in the day before the game.  He was training with our squad in Miami and we doctors proclaim him not fit enough.  Then he goes and plays for Dallas???
So the obvious question WHY wasn't he included in the squad to guatemala.  Even if he wasnt fit enough to start in that game at least he would have been traveling with the squad and been available for Costa Rica.   yet another puzzling move by our team.

your wish is granted....Nixon and Glen in the squad of 22.

The article above suggests Glen is a bit rusty still.  Flying in 1 day before the match, I'm not sure I would start him but he could be a useful spark off the bench like against USA.

I would start with Dwight and Jones up front, let the captain take matters into his own hands.
Hopefully Theobald is fit enough to start in the middle in Dwight place.  If not then play Dwarika and Spann.

----------------------Shaka----------------------
Sancho------Pierre-----Henry--------Rojas
Edwards----Theobald----Spann----Tiger
-------------Jones--------Yorke---------------

Subs:  Stern, Glen, Eve

This quote was taken from the fifa World Cup website commenting on Guatemala's game against the US;

"Guatemala, who recently surged into second place after hammering ‘Hexagonal’ doormats Trinidad & Tobago 5-1 at home on Saturday night" .

DOORMATS, that is the view of the international community folks
