2009-2010 CONCACAF Champions League Group Stage
Wednesday
21:10:09, 20:00, W Connection FC v Real CD España (HON), Mannie Ramjohn Stadium
-
Group D
• Real Espana / Comunicaciones: Both could finish tied with seven (7) or nine (9) points - but only if both win OR both draw their remaining matches. Both beat the other at home in their head-to-head meetings 2-0, requiring goal difference in all matches to decide between the two clubs. Heading into the final round, Comunicaciones leads that category minus-3 to minus-7.
• Comunicaciones / W Connection. If W Connection beats Real Espana and Comunicaciones draws with Pumas, the two would finish with seven points each. In that scenario, W Connection would advance on head-to-head goal difference (4-2) since Comunicaciones won 2-1 at W Connection, which won in Guatemala 3-0.
GP W D L F A D PTS
Pumas 5 4 1 0 14 4 +10 13
Comunicaciones 5 2 0 3 4 7 -3 6
Real España 5 2 0 3 4 11 -7 6
W Connection 5 1 1 3 7 7 +0 4
-
I hope Connection win this game. They have to make up for that dismal Hex performance.
-
By the way DC leading Toluca 1-0.
-
win or stay home.
-
Concacaf is real shit. Comunicaciones plays Pumas the day after the Connection game. They will already know the score and what they have to do to qualify. These games should be played on the same day at the same time.

Che,
I agree!!!!!

Toussaint, Joseph out vs Real Espana.
By: Ian Prescott (Express).
Striker Andre Toussaint is out for the remainder of the season, while skipper and central defender Elijah Joseph is suspended as W Connection face Honduran champions CD Real Espana in a CONCACAF Champ-ions League Group D match from eight o'clock tonight at Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella.
W Connection will be without Toussaint, who picked up an ankle injury against Guatemalan side Communicaciones, but veteran Brazilian defender Jose Luis Seabra is available after coming out of retirement last weekend, as is newly-recruited Mexican striker Jose Carlos Diaz.
Jonathon Frias, their top scorer from the Dominican Republic, is in the squad along with Trinidad and Tobago goalkeeper Marvin Phillip and midfielder Hughton Hector, who provided a pinpoint cross which led to Kerry Baptiste's headed goal in a 2-2 draw with Mexico last week in a CONCACAF World Cup qualifier.
In their first meeting, W Connection put up a very good showing before a defensive mix-up gave Real Espana a 1-0 win in Honduras.
Group D leaders Pumas Unam of Mexico have already clinched a berth in the CONCACAF Champ-ions League quarter-finals, but the other spot in the knockout stage is up for grabs. Comunicaciones (Guatemala) and Real Espana (Honduras) are level with six points apiece after five matches, two points ahead of W Connection.
A win for Connection against Espana and a loss for Communicaciones against group leaders Pumas Unam could send the T&T Pro League club into the quarter-final round of the Champions League.
"Winning on Wednesday against Real Espana will give us a good chance of making the quarter-final round of the CONCACAF Champ-ions League. And also give us confidence in our remaining Pro League matches," said W Connection coach Stuart Charles-Fevrier.
"It has been great," continued Fevrier over his team's involvement in the Champions League.
"We're really happy to be playing at this level. We hope we can stay playing at this level. At the moment we are trying to be more focused for our match on Wednesday."
But Trinidad and Tobago's other representative, San Juan Jabloteh, will end their Champions League run tomorrow when they host Marathon, another Honduran team, from 8 p.m. at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Port of Spain.
Unlike W Connection, Jabloteh have no chance of advancing out of Group B after losing all five of their matches to date.

Yep Communicaciones has the advantage. Connection let it slipped with the tie against Pumas in Mannie. They should have never let Pumas tie in the last minute. All now they would not have to worry about Commun.

And there's the final whistle on a truly thrilling match. W Connection stay alive in the tournament, but Real España return to Honduras having been eliminated from this season's Champions League. W Connection now wait on tomorrow's match between Comunicaciones of Guatemala and Pumas of Mexico. If Comunicaciones fail to win, it will be the Trinidadians in the quarterfinals.

-
Che,
Any game played in Mex, you definitely have to give them advantage, for now. I do not expect TT teams(clubs and national) to win games in the altitude as yet. At sea level they definitely can win as Joe Public showed last year.
-
nice. :beermug:
-
so once pumas draw or win tommorow , we in right?
-
Is tomorrow's game in Mex, or Guat?
-
was de score in the Communicanes game?

True , but the game was tied 1 all until the final min. A defensive give away cost us a draw.
-
Yep. It does not look good for Connection. But they played some good ball.
-
Is tomorrow's game in Mex, or Guat?
In Guat >:(
-
In Guat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! O boy :( :( :(

don't worry guys pumas will play there best cuz they think de trinidad club team r weak so they may try to win d game
