the top 2 in the championship table get automatic promotion while the next 4 teams battle it out in the play-offs with a 2 leg semi-final then 1 final

i dont follow english football as much as allyuh, bundesliga, spain, serie a, Eredivisie in holland i do follow, i thought the man was saying 2 points away from being in playoff contention, from what i have heard the season is not done yet, so i was thinking 6 points would guarantee their play-off spot, i guess im reading too much into tings, some fellahs have a more complex thought process than others... ;D
