I hear yuh on the twist at the end of Brooklyn's Finest. It was crazy but it make for some good watching I think.
In Book Of Eli I was looking for something like that. I saw a review on the movie in Home Theater magazine and the hint was a really ridiculous ending so I was looking out for it. Sometimes the reviews could really screw up your mojo for a movie.
The brothers I don't think I've seen enough of their movies to make a critic on them. I will take a look at menace to society and Dead Presidents.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Don't think I've heard of it.
Did you see Blood and Bone as yet with Michael Jai White? Decent flick
Aye Bakes you having any problems getting movies(recent) these days from BlockBuster? Man is a trip to get them recent releases. Imagine I cyar get Legion, Unthinkable, Road. I only just get th Book Of Eli last week.
Well I usually switch up, sometimes I'll have stuff in my queue and go in the store and pick it up instead... I think that's how I saw Legion. What they telling you online that it "available" but there's a "long wait" or something? I does cyah deal with the long wait business.
I saw Blood and Bone.. discussed it here 3 months ago...
On the strength of that I also checked out Blood and Bone... man, dis movie was a sleeper. Michael Jai White again, playing this underground street fighter. Shame dis man ent getting he due as a martial artist... or as an action star, really... going all the way back to Spawn. Cut-ass sharing from beginning to end, and all of it choreographed of course, but none of it looking fake. And is all kinda break hand and ting man collecting. Good flick.
Just get Ghosts of City Soleil in the mail there... will check it out later this weekend.
I was supposed to come back and talk about Ghosts of City Soleil... really good flick. Documentary about two brothers who are gang leaders in "City Soleil", the sprawling slum in Port au Prince. It details their battles with other gangs in the slums and talks about the support of the gangs for the Aristide government, and how in the void created by the ouster of Aristide (just as in post-Saddam) Iraq, how that power vacuum gave rise to further violence and bloodshed as gangs positioned themselves to seize control in the anarchy. It's a personal story on some level, but shows how common and everyday violence is to the poor people of these neighborhoods. On a more macroscopic level, it also shows how the entire country can be held hostage to corruption by politicians.
Good movie.

Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is boss... a detective flick really, but only is civilians doing the detective work to revice a cold case involving the 40-year old mystery about the disapperance of a young girl. Instead they stumble into investigating a serial killer at work.
There's a follow up to that coming out this summer called The Girl Who Played With Fire... I checking for that when it come out.
