Perseverance beat Cunupia

THE CENTRAL Football Association (CFA) held their CFA Ramsingh Sports World FA Cup last weekend in Caroni.
On Saturday, Perseverance United played Cunupia FC at New Settlement, Caroni Savannah and Cunupia emerged victorious 3-1.
Bryant Constantine drew first blood, scoring the first goal for Perseverance in the 21st minute but Cunupia’s Denron Fredrick replied with a hat-trick, in the 33rd, 62nd and 90th minutes.
In one of Sunday’s matches, Arawak Combined FC and Leeds FC battled to a 3-3 tie but, in kicks from the penalty spot, Arawak prevailed 4-2.
The first goal for Leeds came in the 20th minute by Ricardo Syrus and, six minutes later, his teammate Kennedy Cudjoe extended the lead.
In the 27th, Arawak answered back with a goal from Akil Sinnette and, in the 39th came the equaliser by Richard Seetahal.
Leeds took the lead again in the 58th minute with Markus Blackett finding the back of the net. With two minutes left in the game Akil Sennette again got his name on the scoresheet, causing the game to be determined via penalties.
Also on Sunday, Enterpise Life Sport and Edinbugh 500 battled to a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time, with Edinburgh’s Milton Wilson netting in the 17th minute while Jesse Francis replied for Enterprise in the 35th.
This game too came down to penalties, where Enterprise triumphed 4-3.
In the Under-16 Division, Crown Trace FC beat Tabaquite FC 3-0 with goals coming from Keston Boyke, Josh Cesair and Theophilus Bourne.
Meanwhile, in the Under-18 section, Crown Trace edged Tabaquite 2-1. Josh Cesair scored both goals for Crown Trace while Melik Roberts scored for Tabaquite.
Combined, Enterprise Life Sports roll in CFA

Arawak Combined FC and Enterprise Life Sports both advanced to the semifinal round of the Central Football Association Ramsingh Sports World FA Cup after penalty-kick wins in their respective quarterfinal matches on the weekend.
At Frederick Settlement Ground, Combined FC first needed an 88th minute equaliser from Akil Sinnette, his second goal of the match to earn a 3-3 draw with Leeds FC, before securing a 4-2 penalty-kicks triumph.
Early on, Leeds looked set for an easy passage to the last four when Ricardo Cyrus and Kennedy Cudjoe netted in the 20th and 26th minute for a 2-0 lead, only for Sinnette (27th) and Richard Seetahal (39th) to get Combined level before the half.
Markus Blackette restored Leeds lead at 3-2 in the 58th, but with two minutes left on the clock, Sinnette got his second to send the match to penalties, where his prevailed.
And in the second match at Frederick Settlement, Enterprise Life Sports got a 35th minute item from Jesse Francis to cancel out Milton Wilson’s 17th minute opener for Edinburgh 500 in their 1-1 regulation-time draw before, Enterprise won 4-3 on penalties.
In the semifinals carded for Monday, Combined will meet the winner of the remaining quarterfinal between Harlem Strikers and XtraFoods Chaguanas FC which was carded for New Settlement Ground, Caroni Savannah on Saturday, but did not come off; while Enterprise Life Sports will do battle with the winner of the Cunupia FC and Enterprise Youths FC encounter.
