Football / Re: Premier League Around The World - Trinidad & Tobago
« on: March 16, 2013, 10:41:45 AM »
For the SportsMax viewers who watch BPL during halftime they usually have an Around The World feature done by premier league magazine. Today i saw their first feature of T&T they profiled

Dwight Yorke
JLoyd Samuel
Stern John
Shaka Hislop
Kenwyne Jones

Other countries featured have been Australia, Croatia, Finland and Russia etc.
Yeah that is the PLTV feed (worldwide), they do a country every week.  I saw it as well, they sort of skimmed over Stern though.

Worm, I have an arrangement with Soca Warriors where they use around 300 words or so from the Wired868 articles and then put a read more so interested persons can read the complete story on my site.
That way, both websites benefit. Can you adjust for me? Thanks :beermug:
OK sorry, done

Four 2006 Warriors selected for Belize, Peru friendlies
By Lasana Liburd (Wired868)

The Trinidad and Tobago national football team should not lack know-how for its two upcoming friendly internationals against Belize on March 22 and away to Peru on March 26 after picking a relatively experienced 18-man squad today.

Four 2006 World Cup players got the nod from the technical staff, which is led by joint head coaches Hutson “Barber” Charles and Jamaal Shabazz, as the team continues its preparations for the July 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup in the United States.

Tickets go on sale from Thursday at all Sports and Games outlets for $100 while children under 16-years-old are free.

Stoke City forward Kenwyne Jones, North East Stars striker Cornell Glen, Neal & Massy Caledonia AIA playmaker Densill Theobald and Port Vale midfielder Chris Birchall are included and all represented the “Soca Warriors” at the FIFA showcase tournament in Germany, seven years ago.

I remember in a thread with a video of one of Peltier's goals someone noticed how none of his teammates celebrated with him.  Maybe there is an issue there (or maybe that was just one incident).

At least they mentioned Boucaud but no mention of Jlloyd.

Middlesbrough and former Arsenal defender Justin Hoyte has been called to the squad. Hoyte communicated with the  TTFF last month and has expressed his willingness to join the National Team for the upcoming games. The 28-year-old Hoyte was capped 18 times for the England U-21 team, and played all four matches at the 2007 UEFA Under-21 Championship. He made his debut for Arsenal at age 18 in a 6-1 victory over Southampton.  Hoyte later went on to join Sunderland on loan where he played before joining “Boro” on Ł3 million transfer in 2008.

Otherwise the squad is starting to sound good, would've liked to see recalls for Andre Boucaud and Jlloyd though.

Don't be too jealous...they both signed a third-tier club while Bleeder and Guerra are on loan at top-tier clubs.

where you get jealous from....Trayon Bobb is a talented and deserving player. it speaks volumes that these fellas ketching they ass to play in finland, the same country whose senior team was whipped by T&T U-23s
Only joking.  Actually I am surprised Bobb could only get a deal at a third-tier side.  That Finnish side that played T&T was a B team (at best) though.

Among those killed last weekend was Marvin Guerra, younger brother of notorious gang leader, Mark Guerra, who was murdered at Wallerfield in March 2003.

Thirty-three-year-old Marvin Guerra lived at Rodney Street, Laventille, and on Sunday evening he walked over to St Paul Street—which is not far from Rodney Street—and was ambushed and shot dead for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"He used to encourage children from around the area to play football and one week ago he even bought equipment and supplies to start a league in his neighbourhood," said his mother at the Forensic Centre yesterday.

"He was not in any gang thing, just a cool, outgoing person, but it was just that he crossed the border and they gun him down," she stated.

I watched the Haiti match on TV and I hate to put it on mute because the American commentators were so awful...they couldn't even call the Haitian players names.  I watched the Cuba match on a stream from Univision Deportes and those commentators were great.

Imagine this bullsh!t! there are seven central american teams in concacaf and they get to have five spots, while CFU have over twenty teams and we only allowed four!
When all four Caribbean qualifiers can be competitive in the tournament then it might be bullshit...sadly that has not been the case.
