Early results for U-20 qualifications for group 3 in Puerto Rico
Haiti advance in the second round finishing a top of group  3 with 7 points and +5 goals

Puerto Rico will more than likely get in  as the second best finisher with 7 points and 4 goals.

With this win T&T is practically in the second round with 6 points and + 25 goals.

For T&T not to make it, Suriname will have to win against BVI by at least 23 goals while T&T  lose to Guyana by at least 3 goals..Well, that's very unlikely to happen.

I guess it's over in T&T.

The True test for T&T will begin in the next round where they will face group winners Cuba, Haiti, Jamaica & Group 5 winners ( St. Kitts/Barbados/Grenada)..

CUDOS AND MANY Congrats to Caledonia...THEY ACTUALLY DEFEATED ANTIGUA NATIONAL TEAM NOT JUST A CLUB.  THIS WAS THE NATIONAL TEAM WHO HAD ELIMINATED HAITI, AND STILL  CHASING A WORLD CUP SPOT  NOT TO MENTION THAT THEY DID LOOK GOOD PLAYING THE US AND ALMOST BEAT JAMAICA  AT HOME..

Indeed, It's unfortunate, the Haitian would of made the tournament more interesting, the Haitian team had eliminated both Trini teams(Defensive Force and Caledonia) Last year..it would of been interesting to measure against Haitian this year again..

Even traveling to Jamaica is not easy...there is no direct fly between many Islands....Haitian don't go to Trinidad and Jamaica and Trinis and Jamaican don't go to Haiti to visit unless it is sport related....Just recently that Haitian team Victory that made it to Trinidad went through hell to reach Trinidad.. The players had to travel in three different planes in three different countries to reach Trinidad..

By the way you're not funny Sam...about swimming to Florida..The Cubans do that...
the Haitian catch the boat...LOL

The Haitian had traveled to Dominican republic trying to reach the Cayman Island because there is no direct fly from Haiti to this Island.. there was only one connecting fly but it was from DR to the US and then to the Cayman Island...Baltimore couldn't get US visa..there were only 6 players on the team with prior US Visa..they were stopped at the Dominican republic airport..and couldn't make the trip..

This Antigua club is actually  Antigua national team. It will be interesting to see how W. connection do Friday again Barracuda FC. This game will be for the division lead. If Barracuda FC win, they will finish first. This Antigua club is playing with 7 players on their roster who were part of their National team who defeated Haiti  and will be competing against the US, Jamaica and Guatemala for a world cup spot..

What if
The top two from each second-round group will advance to a four-team final round, but only the professional clubs: the Puerto Rico Islanders, Caledonia AIA, W Connection and Barracudas will be eligible for the three berths in next season’s Concacaf Champions League per tournament regulations.

Let me try to understand this, only the Professional teams will advance, so why have this tournament, shouldn't they just have the 4 Professional Teams Caledonia AIA, W Connection, Puerto Rico Islanders and Antigua Barracudas just play that one round of matches and then the top 3 advance. So I suppose if the Pro Teams fail then we will have no Caribbean representative then in the Concacaf Champions League...smh!!!

I don't understand this..last year when Tempete FC from Haiti beat Alpha United from Guyana, both Defensive force and Caledonia from Trinidad...they did advance..why not now...is this a new rule?

This Concacaf Club Football is serious business.
Fight hard T&T Club Warriors.
Big benefits if T&T teams progress, especially if they go past the Haitian teams.

Well not an easy task..Defensive Force and Caledonia were not able to do it last year...

As much as I love to see a fellow Caribbean team to win, I am sorry to say it's not going to happen guys..Mexico team is made up of world champion players and Pan-American game champion players. From what I understand the team is made up totally of the last U17 world champion and of the U-21 Panam champions...It will be a monumental task for T&T to beat Mexico..

I hope and I'll be happy if T&T proves me wrong

Those dam betting sites are never correct  :cursing:

Good for the Reggae Gurlz if this is the case that Cuba & PR tied.

Anyone in the official know that confirm about that particular match.

CFU & Concacaf are not up to dam.... Go figure :rotfl:

Cheers   19
Correct or not. Those standings seem pretty accurate to me. ;D
If Trinidad loses to Cuba or tie Cuba, they out..they need to win period..in case of a tie, Soca princesses will finish with 4 points while Cuba will finish with 5 points..

True, I did not know you all called the Haitian ladies, Princess. I thought they were called Les Compas Dameselles!

I just borrowed the name from your site..the Haitian are referred to as "Les Grenadiers" for men and "Les Grenadieres" for women which mean roughly in English " Grenade lancers" or "the Bomb makers"

This Haitian U-20 team is very strong, they beat the Dominican U17 and U-20 men in practice games before the tournament started.

Their records up to this point in the tournament
They beat Puerto Rico 4-0 , St. Kitts 4-0, Dominican Republic 4-0, Jamaica 1-0 (beat Jamaica with 9 players on the field). Jamaica by all account has the best u-20 women team in the Caribbean playing with over 7 over sea players from the US and Canada and  still lost to Haiti with two women down in the first half...

Look out for Haiti for the U-20 Concacaf final round, they have not conceded a goal yet in this tournament

Football / Re: Starting XI for meaningless game against Guyana on Tuesday
« on: November 13, 2011, 12:15:19 PM »
You are right about the ranking but I always feel that FIFA has been unfair to Central Caribbean teams outside Costa Rica and Honduras...Guatemala should be where Cuba or Jamaica is at.. Guatemala should never have to fight these lower Caribbean teams for a spot...Take look at Granada who ranked almost 40 places higher ahead of Guatemala and a group leader...Guatemala U-23/ Olympic team has just beaten a full Grenada's team 3-0 at home..It's a joke. It's make FIFA's ranking look like a joke.. How can a senior team who rank that high than another team and lost to their u-23 team by that much..

Football / Re: Starting XI for meaningless game against Guyana on Tuesday

It's none of my business but I feel that T&T should put their best available players on the field. Losing to Guyana at home and away...can affect you ranking for a long time..and the thought of losing twice to Guyana will have a  psychological effect on the team when it comes to the next CFU tournament.. Cuba and Jamaica are enjoying a free pass into the semi-final round cause of their ranking....in addition, the country's pride is at stake..if you put a U-23 team on the field and Guyana showed up with their total team and T&T lost, 40 years from now, Guyana will earn bragging right that they beat T&T twice to qualify, no one will mention that it was a u-23 team on the field.. I had the same advise for my fellow Haitians who are on the same boat with T&T..

GUYs, the way I look at it every 4 year or a decade a team can rise up and look good while another team is having a  bad year....We all  know the 4 power house teams of the Caribbean are T&T, Jamaica, Cuba & Haiti.. Antigua, Guadeloupe and Guyana have been slowly coming up the rank because they're following Jamaica foot step using over sea players...

Now it's on for Guyana and Antigua to carry on the Caribbean flag to join Cuba and Jamaica..we take our hats off to them and wish them luck..while we know for a fact that Antigua can 't touch the US of Guatemala and Guyana  wont go past the semi-final round as well...let them enjoy their little success.  You and I know next year around this time, no one  will be talking about Guyana or Antigua..The talk will be about Mexico , US, Costa Rica, Honduras, one central American team and a lucky Caribbean team..and Im guessing that i/s going to Cuba or Jamaica but not Guyana or Antigua

Sometimes i does feel is mad ppl i does be interacting with oui! fellas we loss, and we loss to ah damn good team! did anybody stop to think that guyana had @ least 7 english born and bred players ?

we didn't lose to a guyana team that was locally born and bred. as far i i know criss nurse, the cort brother and ricky shakes are all english boys. the guyana that we accustomed tuh beating up on went and got his big brother to do his fighting this time around, and it worked.

i say we continue to do the good work we've been doing, go into tuesday's game and play as if it was ah meaningful match, bc we still have tuh consider our FIFA ranking, and who know's, maybe we could give it ah damn good run for the next gold cup and the degicel.

i eh go lie, i didn't sleep well and this defeat have meh out of sorts, but after the smoke cleared, honestly ppl, do yuhs think that we really deserved tuh win or come out of this group?

our federation has been fackin around with the football for decades, and the last five yrs was no different, as ah matter of fact worst! and despite all that our football fraternity in T&T still kept them in place all in the name of friendship and financial reward.

my only regret is that the coach and the youngsters got caught in the middle. listen ppl , this WC is ah great deal we know, but all is not lost.

we need to start ah fresh, and firing the coach would not change ah thing, on the contrary, we need tuh keep this coach, if not as ah head coach, as ah TD and start working our way up like jamaica did. it will take a lot of hard work and money, but as the saying goes, "anything that's worth having comes with a price".

178
Surprisingly it is not Jamaica...:-)

179
The second highest WC defeat was in the hand of the Haitian  4-0 in 1968 to eliminate them from the 1970 world cup.. Archi was in that game too..but he couldn't score against the all-mighty Haitian defense

180
Their entire team are USFL based players not MSL, they have a club called Barruca IN A&B
I believe which is also a club in the USFL league..

Well I agree with you, I doubt if any other Caribbean team could have won the game 4-0 against Barbados...you are right...It happened sometimes in soccer that on any given day any team in the same league can beat another team 4-0...For instance, Trinidad never beat Haiti by a 4 goal margin in their soccer history until the last CFU qualifiers..well it happened..I doubt it this will ever happened again..Haiti right now for the first time stopped playing with local players...no one on the team is from our local league..
